Earth Day is just around the corner, and this Saturday, April 20th from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., will be a fun day for all ages at the Tom Raper Center.
Organizations from all over Wayne County including the Cope Environmental Center, Sprout of Control Community Gardening, Lemonade Day Wayne County, and many others will have displays set up for you to visit. Other activties will include: Mark’s Ark Live Animal Show, and the Test Middle School Drum Ensemble. There will be native tree giveaways, and plenty of opportunities to learn more about local green businesses, and learn about different places where you an enjoy nature outdoors.
Best Way Recycling will be on site and will take cardboard, paper, and plastics 1-7, glass and cans. There will be plenty of hands-on activities as well.
Mascots will be available for photo-ops with the kids (and adults) including Kash from First Bank Richmond.
Monday, April 22nd, Texas Roadhouse is offering Earth Day activities for kids as well. (see information below).
And remember it’s a good time to plant a tree and start a garden plot in celebration of this great place called Earth!

– Make bird feeders, paint, play games
– Meet adorable animals from HELP the Animals

Until April 30th, bring in your tin or aluminum cans to either Texas Roadhouse in Richmond or H.E.L.P. the Animals and receive a free* Appetizer Card to be used on a future visit.
The cans will be recycled for cash and our friends at Richmond Scrap Processors will match that amount to donate to the H.E.L.P. the Animals Inc.
